Portrait of Damien Capashan

Eighteen months ago, Damien Capashan died. Killed by the sinister blade of Red Fang right before the The Order of the Owlbear's eyes. His body was laid to rest, memorials held, his story thought to be over. But death was not the end.

After some time, Damien was brought back to Alashar by unknown means. He did not immediately return to Mercadia, however. Damein, seeking truth and purpose, decided to travel the realm before making his return. His journey brought him far to the south in the ruined wastelands of Acheron. Here Damien met a young girl, Elisara, who hears the whispers of the dead. Elisara brought Damien before a mighty back dragon, Velwitheran, who demanded the blood of his rival. After vanquishing the powerful red dragon, Ignaraxxis, Damien decided it was time to make his return to Mercadia. He did not make the journey alone, however.

With Elisara, and the ancient entity who dwells within the skull she carries, at his side Damien finally returns to the grand city of Mercadia. Choosing to lay low for a while, he decided to stay in the Undercity. Here Damien joined the ranks of an organization called a group, experts in hunting Dragonkind. Damien decided to wear a disguise to mask his identity. A hooded cloak with the ability to obscure his face in shadow.

Damien’s appearance is more lean, his rugged features sharpened by the weight of the grave. His long brown hair remains, but his presence carries a grim, spectral aura. His sleek black plate armor, etched with glowing crimson runes, emanates an aura of darkness, as though burdened by the unseen forces that pulled him from death. The runes pulse faintly, their meaning no longer entirely clear—once symbols of protection and power, now perhaps something darker.

Damien has chosen to wield the greatsword once again, leaving the spear of something behind. This new sword, an item, crackles with a fiery energy. Shadow and flame dance along the massive blade making it look alive. An unfathomable darkness dwells within the blade, eager to consume.

A heavy hooded cloak conceals his face in darkness, and when he moves, it is as though the shadows follow. Only his glowing crimson eyes pierce through the black, a haunting reminder that he is not as he was. When he fights, he is relentless—strong, swift, and unyielding. But those who watch closely swear they see something else, something just beyond mortal sight. He is called "The Crimson Paladin" by the locals who have witnessed him around the city, his reputation growing by the day.

Damien does not speak of what lies beyond death. He does not say how he returned or why. He walks the streets of Mercadia as both legend and omen—a warrior torn between life and the grave. Whether his resurrection is a gift or a curse remains unknown, but one thing is certain: Damien has returned, and things will never be the same.
